The Parents Association is a vital, hardworking force of the school community. Our primary goal is to promote goodwill and unity within the school community while working in partnership with Women's Auxiliary and TAKS. Our mission is to support the administration, faculty, students, and school family for the mutual benefit of all. Parents Association offers many opportunities for parents to achieve these goals and parent participation is encouraged at all grade levels.

We have a council of volunteers that meets once each month during the school year.  There are two parent representatives per grade on the Lower School Parent Council that meet with Mrs. Crawford, two parent representatives per grade on the Middle School Parent Council that meet  Mrs. Whiteside, and two parent representatives per grade on the Upper School Parent Council that meet with Dr. Peterson. As Parents Association President, I also attend all Parent Council meetings and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Everyone at TA is a member of Parents Association as paid through $30 (per family) dues at the beginning of the year.  This year we are taking that money to provide support for teachers and students through events such as back-to-school ice cream socials, Honor Roll parties, and teacher-appreciation lunches.   TA’s Parents Association is also expanding the current middle school test-prep curriculum to include an individualized online program for students.  The Skills Tutor Program focuses on individualized standardized test preparation by tracking a student’s progress and customizing the problems to the skills that need more attention.

New this year to Parents Association is the TAPA Faculty Award for Professional Growth.  This award provides an opportunity for interested TA faculty members to further their own professional development thus enhancing the learning experience for both the students and the teacher. The TAPA Award recipient(s) will be named toward the end of the first semester.

Please contact me if you have any questions.  Thank you so much and I look forward to working with you.
