Meet the Counselor!

I am Gabby Pettway, Tuscaloosa Academy's new college counselor. I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama, but now consider Tuscaloosa my home. I received my Bachelors degree from the University of Alabama in 2018. Immediately after graduating, I became a school teacher in Birmingham City Schools where I taught high school English for two years. I developed an affinity for proofreading my students admissions essays and even helped them pick majors and different degree programs. After realizing how much I loved helping students apply to college, I decided to get my master's degree in School Counseling. I am receiving my Masters of Education from the University of Alabama in 2023. I am so excited to work with all of the students and families at Tuscaloosa Academy and look forward to meeting all of you!
